Switzerland: The ultimate European health-care destination

Switzerland is a small multi-cultural, multi-lingual country located in the very heart of Europe. It shares common frontiers with five countries — Germany, France, Italy, Austria and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Despite its small size compared to the rest of Europe, Switzerland boasts one of the most advanced and highly esteemed health-care systems in the world. Switzerland spends nearly 11% of its Gross National Product (GNP) on health care. The federal authorities are responsible for basic legislation and the 26 politically independent cantons are in charge of maintaining public health care. In all, there are more than 400 hospitals in Switzerland, both private and public. Each of the five university hospitals are associated with a faculty of medicine from which approximately 800 medical doctors graduate annually.

Switzerland
- Beautiful, convenient, comfortable, hospitable and safe.
- State-of-the-art medicine of the highest standing.
