Division of Gynaecology

Daniel Fink MD
Professor and Chair

The Division of Gynaecology provides up-to-date diagnostics, medical treatment, and surgical interventions. Experienced physicians counsel all patients thoroughly about their diseases and treatment options. The physicians and the nursing staff care for the patients in the outpatient and inpatient clinics with expertise and compassion.

The Division of Gynaecology provides advanced diagnostics and treatment modalities for breast and gynaecological diseases. Besides screening examinations, health education, second opinions, diagnostics, medical and surgical treatments in general gynaecology, there are specialised units for breast diseases, urinary incontinence including pelvic floor reconstruction, colposcopy, vulvar disease, as well as gynaecologic oncology. The Division of Gynaecology is one of the leading centres in Europe in senology (Breast Unit Zurich, accreditation by EUSOMA) and gynaecologic oncology. Each year 2,500 patients are treated as inpatients and 18,000 patients in out-patient clinics. In the operating theatre, more than 4,000 operations are carried out each year. The research projects focus on gynaecologic oncology, the development of new chemotherapy drugs and the molecular genetics of ovarian cancer.
