The Clinic of Rheumatology offers a comprehensive spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic services covering the complete area of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

The Clinic offers several areas of specialization that are highly appreciated by referring physicians, divisions within the University Hospital and outside hospitals. All the tools necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic processes are available. Services are provided by specialists in several areas including back disorders, inflammatory diseases and osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and muscle disorders. More than 8’000 patients are seen each year.

Area of Specialization:

• Areas include arthritis, vasculitis and connective tissue disorders, back disorders and osteoporosis.
• For the years 2010–2015 the Department has been elected as “Center of Excellence in Rheumatology”.
• Excellence through tight linkage from basic and clinic research to patient care.
