The University Hospital Zurich places great importance on varied cuisine. It is important to support you on the road to recovery by providing you with delicious meals and healthy food. Those in charge of catering and hotel services in your department will be happy to advise you and hear your wishes. We buy fresh regional produce wherever possible.

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner (meal 1, vegetarian meal 2 or individualized meal) and à la carte meals
  • Lunch and dinner choices starting from the second day of your stay
  • The option to order half portions or carbohydrate-rich side dishes and more vegetables
  • Additional options for purchase such as non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages with doctor's permission

Special needs and diets

Diabetics are recommended to choose the healthy heart (Herzgesund) diet or the Vita menu. We also offer kosher meals. You can also order all meals without pork. If you have special dietary requirements or questions about diet in relation to your disease, please ask your medical team about our dietary advice service.

The culinary range is available for purchase to relatives and visitors according to the patient's insurance class.

Bistros / Cafèbar

Enjoy the wide range of food and drink provided of our bistros and cafè bar in a relaxed atmosphere. Each day, we provide homemade products, cakes, sandwiches, take away salats, warm panini, various specialty coffees, fruit juices and other cold drinks. At the cafè bar, we offer weekly changing lunch menus. During the week we serve fine soups and hot snacks at lunch. In the evenings you can choose from various menus, also for take away.
