Registration & admission

Outpatient appointments

Your GP will book an appointment for your outpatient examination or treatment at the University Hospital Zurich. You may also arrange an appointment yourself for some special consultations.

The department responsible for your examination or treatment will send you an appointment invitation by mail and inform you of the exact location. You may also arrive 15 minutes before your outpatient appointment and ask for more information at the main entrance (Rämistrasse 100) or in the NORD 1 building (Frauenklinikstrasse 10). We will gladly provide directions from there. If possible, we will accompany you to the department.

Inpatient stay

Your GP will book your inpatient stay at the University Hospital Zurich. Please read our recommendations for a hospital stay before packing your bag.

The appointment invitation from the department will describe when and where you should come. Alternatively, you can come to the main entrance (Rämistrasse 100) or the NORD 1 building (Frauenklinikstrasse 10) for more information. If possible, we will accompany you to the department. You will receive a patient wristband at the time of admission.

If a surgical operation is due to take place on the day of admission, please arrive on an empty stomach, i.e. do not eat any solid food from midnight. You can drink still water up to one hour before most surgical procedures.
